Last year we tried to launch this crazy living free lifestyle in our new camper we affectionately named April, but some real estate deals we were working on didn’t happen, so we didn’t have enough money to jumpstart our adventure. I made it two weeks and had to return back home; Sandra made it 90 days. The CEO at my company decided we were going to open a new division and the only person who could get it done was me. It took me 10 months to finish the project. The world hates FREEDOM.
There isn’t a playbook for trying to live your life in a camper while traveling the United States. There is a lot of advice, but every situation is different.
How do you make a living?
Do you keep your house?
Do you sell your house?
What kind of camper do you buy?
What kind of truck do you buy?
Can I take my dogs?
Last time was a complete failure and we were nowhere near ready to launch into this adventure financially, emotionally or physically, so here we are again a year later, not necessarily wiser, we are trying again.
It is funny the comments we get from people we tell our plans:
Isn’t that a little irresponsible?
What about your family?
You can’t retire yet?
Do you have enough money?
What about your bills? Can you just leave?
My friends who are honest say they are jealous. We are scared to death! We have no idea how this is going to work, but we are trying again. We hope God loves Fools.
